Rune Bjørnbekk – NSMiF/b, Norway
I was born in Oslo in 1975, but have spent most of my adult life on the west coast of Norway (since 1998).
I’ve enjoyed photography for a long time. I got my first camera in 1989—an Olympus AF-1 Twin compact camera with two fixed focal lengths, 35mm and 70mm. Over the years, I’ve tried various types of equipment, as I’m interested in technology and enjoy learning how to use new tech. I currently use Sony.
In the beginning, and well into the “digital age,” my photography mainly consisted of documenting trips and vacations, with no particular goal or purpose, and no post-processing of the images. I bought Lightroom in 2017 and experimented with editing on my own, but I didn’t use it much.
Until 2020, I was completely self-taught, but in the fall of that year, I joined a photo club to learn how to take better pictures, edit them, and find new inspiration. In 2021, I began entering Norwegian and Nordic competitions. By 2023, I started participating in international competitions outside of the Nordic region. I’m currently a member of Bryne Photo Club, where I’ve served on the board for four years. Since 2022, I’ve been part of the NSFF Competition Committee.
I find photography to be a rewarding hobby, and I enjoy photographing a wide variety of subjects: sports, landscapes, animals and birds, portraits, and street/urban scenes.
